IT appears there has not been a large uptake by passengers of the new bus services from park and ride sites into the hospitals and Oxford Brookes’ campus in Headington.

But this is very much early days.

The target passengers will be commuters and the problem with commuters is that by and large they usually only make a significant change to their journey if they change jobs or homes.

It was always unlikely huge numbers would suddenly leap aboard the new services.

It will take time for people to learn about transport links and migrate to them.

The important thing is these buses have been put on for commuters to come to rely on – in their own sweet time.
