BLIND judo Paralympian Ian Rose inspired students at Wallingford School recently to follow their dreams.
The winner of medals from two Paralympics, five World Championships and nine European Championships spoke to year nine Wallingford School pupils ahead of choosing their GCSE options.
Eye cancer left him partially blind when he was six months old.
Year nine student Massie Willis said: “Thank you so much Mr Rose for coming into our school yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed your speech. I could have listened to you all day.
"I took in what you had to say – it was so inspiring. Your knowledge and life experience touched me. You have achieved so much in your life and one day I hope I could have done the same.”
Assistant headteacher Fin Lewis said: “Ian spent time with the students after a truly inspiring presentation. Students had the chance to wear an Olympic medal and discuss their hopes and dreams for the future.”
