COMMUTERS are facing delays on trains between Oxford and Banbury after a freight train broke down at Heyford.

First Great Western has already confirmed it is providing taxis for passengers at smaller stations along the route such as Tackley, Heyford and King’s Sutton.

CrossCountry services between Oxford and the Midlands are also thought to be affected.

First Great Western spokesman Jane Jones said a rescue engine was on its way to pull the stranded train out “in the next two hours”.
