19 standard bearers are stood along Norton Way at the memorial garden.

We are covering the repatriation today of Lance Corporal James Brynin.

The Intelligence Corps soldier attached to 14th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare), will be repatriated to RAF Brize Norton.

The plane carrying his body landed at the Carterton airbase earlier this afternoon and the cortege will pass the memorial garden at about 3.45pm.

Residents are lining the route as the cortege makes it way to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for about 4.45pm for a post mortem examination.

L Cpl Brynin was killed in Helmand, Afghanistan, on Tuesday, October 15. He received a fatal gunshot wound after coming under enemy fire during an operation.

Norton Way in Carterton was closed from about 1.30pm, whilst Station Road in Brize Norton will be closed for about 10 minutes when the cortege leaves the base.

There will also be road closures for the cortege at the Marston Ferry Road and Cherwell Drive junction, Marston Road and Cherwell Drive junction, and at the roundabout at the entrance to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
