Singer Amy Dow, from Cholsey, is now a 'platinum girl'.

With other members of her classic/pop crossover group Angelis she received a platinum disc on GMTV on Wednesday morning to mark 350,000 copies of the sale of the album called Angelis.

And the next step for the young singers could be a tour of America.

More recordings are in the pipeline Recently the group appeared on Blue Peter along with boy band Westlife.

The 11-year-old led the group singing Angels while the background film featured Aids orphans in Malawi at whom this year's Blue Peter shoes appeal is aimed.

Amy and the other five members of the group took the shoes from Westlife members for the appeal.

The group, formed by X-Factor's Simon Cowell, has also been in Dublin performing on The Late Show.

Amy, right, a student at Wallingford School, and the others have a tutor travelling with them as they go round the country to make sure they don't miss out on any of their schoolwork.

Her mother, Sarah, said: "This has all been the most fantastic experience for Amy.

"She's a born performer and has loved every minute of it all."

Amy was also a founder member of two choirs and has also taken the lead in several productions at her school.
