THE former house of John Henry Brookes, after whom Oxford Brookes was named, has been put on the market for £1million.
The five-bedroom house at 195 The Slade, Headington, which has an Oxfordshire blue plaque, has been listed on the website of estate agent James C. Penny.
John Henry Brookes, who lived in Headington between 1929 and 1975, was the vice-principal of Oxford City Technical School and head of the School of Art, a precursor of Oxford Brookes University.
He lived at the house for 46 years.
