CROPREDY folk artist Will Pound has narrowly missed out on a win at the Radio 2 Folk Awards.
He had been nominated in the Musician of the Year category but was beaten to first by Aidan O’Rourke from Scotland.
Mr Pound is a harmonica player and released his first album, A Cut Above, in October 2013.
The awards, which entered their 15th anniversary this year, saw a string of live acts performed before winners were announced at 8pm on Wednesday.
English folk hero Cecil Sharp was honoured with a new award, the Hall of Fame. Mr Sharp is widely regarded as being a key figure in the modern folk revival in the early 20th century.
