OXFORD Fashion Week is now well under way after the first of five fashion shows took place on Tuesday night.
The week kicked off with the High Street Show at The Varsity Club, which featured clothing from retailers such as New Look and Next.
One of the models was 17-year-old Oliver Callaghan, who wore clothing from Next.
The trainee chef from Cholsey, near Wallingford, said: “The first walk was always going to be a bit daunting, but it went really smoothly.
“You’re just thinking about what you’re doing and counting in your head and remembering to stop and pose – you don’t even have time to be nervous when you’re up there.
- Oliver Callaghan
“Then, when it’s over, you immediately want to see the pictures and see what you really looked like.”
Fashion Week director Carl Anglim said: “It’s going amazingly. The High Street Show is a bit smaller, it’s a bit of a warm-up for the bigger shows later in the week, and that was sold out by Monday. Our shows are always busy, but we’ve never had it completely sell out before the night before.”
Tonight will see the Lingerie Show take place at 8pm at Malmaison in the Castle Quarter.
