CHARITABLE sorts from Oxfordshire are being asked to “go jump in a lake”.
Homeless charity Crisis wants people to jump into the lake at Queenford Lakes Sport Centre, Berinsfield, for the Crisis Springtime Swim.
Swimmers are asked to wear fancy dress to the jump on Sunday, April 13, with a prize for best costume.
There will also be an award for the top fundraiser and swim challenges for teams.
Kate Cocker, pictured, director of Crisis Skylight Oxford, which runs a café at the Old Fire Station on George Street, said: “Last year Crisis Skylight Oxford supported 463 homeless people, including moving into work and further education or training. Crisis helps homeless people change their lives.”
The money raised will support the work of the charity, which offers education, health, housing and employment advice to hundreds of homeless people every year.
Ms Crocker said: “Just £25 could provide a homeless person in Oxford with a range of health checks, counselling support and opportunities to take part in sport and exercise.”
