Masonry death trial hears from expert
7:44pm Friday 16th May 2014 in News
A jury has heard from a specialist inspector about the regulations a company should have followed when moving a two-tonne limestone block, which then crushed a man to death.
Health and Safety Executive specialist inspector David Wonford told Oxford Crown Court temporary works should have been put in place when the block was being balanced at the Well Barn Estate near Wallingford.
The stone fell on and killed stonemason’s mate David Evans, 23, in February 2012.
Cavendish Masonry Ltd denies corporate manslaughter. The trial continues.
