A MAN has died after he was found unconscious in Deddington High Street in the early hours of this morning.

Thames Valley Police said the man, who is thought to have been in his late 60s, appeared to have fallen into an area in front of a basement window.

The man was found by a member of the public at 12.30am and taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His death is being treated as unexplained but is currently not thought to be suspicious.

But a police scene watch is currently in place while officers investigate.

Det Insp Steve Raffield said: “We are working to establish the circumstances around this unexplained death. The deceased is aged in his late 60s, about 5ft 6in, of average build with short grey hair.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen a person matching his description in the area around the time of the incident or earlier in the night to contact me.”
