A team of roller derby skaters will complete 11 laps of Goodwood Race Circuit in West Sussex tomorrow in aid of Helen & Douglas House.

The all-girl team, called Code Red, will raise money in the name of Thomas Laurie, nine, of Bicester, who suffered from a rare genetic condition called Cockayne Syndrome and died in February.

Code Red Roller Derby team was set up in March and has nominated the hospice as its charity of the year. Some are new to skating but all hope to complete 26 miles around the track – each lap is 2.4 miles.
