Sir – Do we really, as a community, have to continue to pursue the Wyatt brothers, the Waterstock Golf Club owners who at their worst have dumped tons of soil on their land without the right permit.
However, at their best, they have already created a much-needed golf course which if allowed to develop further could become an even greater asset for all those that enjoy this great game. They have been punished in prison, but the earth will still not be moved because it will cost too much.
Instead why can’t the council be more imaginative by now allowing the site to be developed and used to benefit the local community.
For example, by making it into a nine hole, par three course suitable for beginners, seniors and youngsters.
In other words, something that is needed and can help encourage even more to play this healthy good-mannered sport.
