Race will shut roads

The Oxford Times: Last year’s Race for Life Last year’s Race for Life

Several roads will be closed in central Oxford because of the Race for Life charity run on Sunday, July 13.

Oxfordshire County Council is closing roads around the University Parks where the race will take place.

Race for Life sees thousands of women run or walk 5km or 10km to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Cars will not be able to drive down St Cross Road, South Parks Road, Longwall Street and the High Street from 9am to 11am and Queens Lane, New College Lane and Catte Street from 9am to noon.

Quentin Walker says...

13. Terence Baker, 55, of Conifer Close, Oxford, convicted of using a mobile phone while driving in Oxpens Road, Oxford, on September 13. Fined £200 and told to pay a £20 victims' surcharge and £650 costs. Given three points on his driving licence.

At last, a deterrent.
