More police officers have been drafted in to help prevent antisocial behaviour in the city during the World Cup.
Oxford area commander Supt Christian Bunt said: “Evidence has shown that at previous big football events we do get increases in public disorder and antisocial behaviour, particularly as a lot of the games are quite late at night.
“What we want people to do is to have a nice time and enjoy the tournament, and the vast majority of people will do that.”
An extra 12 police constables and two sergeants have been drafted in to patrol the city centre during the World Cup.
