PEOPLE across Oxfordshire celebrated Armed Forces Day with song, poetry and two-minutes’ silence.
Starting at the Memorial Garden in Carterton on Saturday, a service was held which included a poem written and read by resident Doreen Clarke and a reading by RAF Brize Norton Group Captain Edward Cole.
Two minutes’ silence were observed before the garden’s memorial bell was rung.
Later, a service was held at St Mary’s Church, Witney, including a performance by the Military Wives choir.

In Banbury, troops were led by the Royal Logistic Corps Band and the Corps of Drums, in a parade from Market Place to Horsefair for a Trooping of the Colour.
The flag was handed over by the Royal Signals Regiment to the Royal Logistic Corps reservist regiment which is taking over the Bicester base.
Banbury Town council leader Kieron Mallon said: “It was a fantastic sight and something we should be justifiably proud of.”
