GIRLS from three schools came together to learn the skills for careers in engineering and manufacturing.
Oxford High School chemistry teacher Maria Whittington took Year 10 pupils from her school, as well as Mathew Arnold and Gosford Hill School, to spend the morning at Mini Plant Oxford in Cowley to learn about the company and tour the plant.
The pupils then headed back to the Belbroughton Road school where they were given an afternoon workshop by independent jewellery store Argenteus Jewellery Shop in Cornmarket.
The children worked together in groups to plan, design, cost, and make sets of jewellery like a production line.
The day was aimed to promote the engineering and manufacturing industry to the girls.
Oxford High School pupil Irene Mathias, 15, said: “This was such a great day.”
