So Stagecoach is withdrawing its direct No 7 bus across Oxford between Barton and Kidlington (Oxford Mail, March 3).
This means that people will have to pay for two journeys, not one, and it will be more inconvenient for everyone, especially the elderly and disabled.
Stagecoach's excuse is that roadworks in the city centre are making the direct service unreliable, but the work at the end of High Street should be finished by the end of this month, and all roadworks in the area will be completed by October.
Will Stagecoach assure us that the direct No 7 service will be resumed after October?
If not, it is clear that the company's real motive is to make more money out of passengers, not to provide them with a more reliable service.
