POLITICIANS in Oxfordshire took to Twitter to express their support to those affected by the terror attacks in Paris.

At least 129 people died in a series of assaults on Friday, November 13.

Late on Friday night, Prime Minister and Witney MP David Cameron wrote: "I am shocked by events in Paris tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with the French people. We will do whatever we can to help."

The day after the attack, he paid homage to the French both in English and in their native language.

John Howell, MP for Henley, wrote: "Our thoughts and prayers tonight with Parisians for the horror they have faced."

MP for Banbury Victoria Prentis wrote: "My thoughts and prayers are with the people of France following the terrible and shocking events in Paris tonight."

Nicola Blackwood, MP for Oxford West and Abingdon, said: "We stand with the people of Paris tonight. Thoughts and prayers with victims and loved ones. Strength to emergency responders."

A candlelit vigil wll be held tonight at 5pm in Carfax in support of the victims and of those affected by terrorist group Islamic State around the world.
