A MAN has been arrested following a pile-up involving six cars and an HGV on the A34 on Monday.
The smash near Bicester saw five people taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital including a 10-year-old boy and his mother, who ambulance crews said were 'extremely lucky' to be alive after the back of their car was 'completely destroyed'.
More than 10 others were treated for injuries in the aftermath.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Holly Claydon-Bevan said: "A 52 year-old man from Bulgaria was arrested on suspicion of careless driving. He has been reported for summons.
"Investigations are ongoing."
Police have yet to confirm which vehicle the man was driving at the time of the crash.
