A protest against the chemical weapons attack which killed more than 80 people in Syria has been held in Oxford this evening.
The Oxford Solidarity for Syria group hosted the event in Radcliffe Square to make a stand against the attacks which killed up to 30 children in northern Syria on Tuesday.
The attack sparked global outrage with indications suggesting that President Bashar al Assad was behind it.
Eyad Al-Samra, originally from Syria but currently working at Oxford University, said it was important for people in the city to stand up against what was happening in his home country.
He said: "It's very important to make a stand against what has happened and in fact what has been happening, it's not the first time chemical weapons have been used in the war.
"It's nice to see people coming together in Oxford in protest, it's important."
He added: "Hundreds of people died and were injured, entire families passed away, it's really shocking.
"The war should stop immediately and Assad must go."
