RESIDENTS will stage a recreation of riots nearly two centuries ago to protest any possible development of the Oxford-Cambridge expressway.
People living around Otmoor will recreate the Otmoor Riots on July 8.
In 1830, residents around Otmoor broke down its fences after desperate agricultural labourers saw their sources of income disappear as the wetland dried.
A peaceful protest will be held from the Horton-cum-Studley Millennium Hall from 9.30am. The march will continue through Murcott, Fencott, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Oddington, Noke, Beckley and finish back in Horton at about 6pm.
