ACTOR Shaun Evans, who plays a young Inspector Morse in ITV’s Endeavour, was spotted showing off a moustache during filming in Oxford.
He was among cast and crew seen in Radcliffe Square, where filming began for a sixth series of the detective drama, a spin-off following the Inspector Morse and Lewis series inspired by Colin Dexter’s acclaimed novels.
Fans of the drama will be trying to detect if Mr Evans’ facial hair is real or fake.
A member of the crew said: “Oxford is the best place to film - the councils and the colleges are so helpful.”
After being spotted by fans in Radcliffe Square the film crew and actors switched locations to Keble College.
It is understood that scenes were then shot at Green Templeton College in Woodstock Road and in Canterbury Road, North Oxford.
Season five of Endeavour started in February last year and the follow-up is expected to be hitting screens at a similar time in 2019.
The fifth run was the longest in the crime drama’s history with six two-hour long films and it looks like season six, set in 1969, could follow with a similar number of episodes.
