A LIFT at an Oxford care home has been fixed a month after relatives raised concern that their loved ones were 'stranded' upstairs.

Headington Care Home spokesperson Robert Mitchell told the Oxford Mail that the lift was fixed today, but is not yet fully in use.

Mr Mitchell said: "It is installed and up and running, but we're calling today a test day."

John Evans, whose wife lives on the top floor, said that the broken lift has made the 'number of days that my wife and others have been detained to 33 or 34 days'.

Mr Mitchell added: "We have apologised repeatedly to the residents."
