A 'WATER DAY' will address growing concerns around water pollution and flooding in the River Windrush.
The open event, hosted by West Oxfordshire District Council, will feature presentations from the Environment Agency and Thames Water and takes place on Thursday, October 4.
The former has been exploring ways of cleaning up the River Windrush and will present a report at the meeting.
Industry experts will address the Environment Agency's response to pollution in the river, Thames Water network issues and flooding concerns.
Town and parish councils, Oxfordshire County Council flood team, the Windrush against Sewage Pollution (WASP) campaign group and Witney MP Robert Courts have been invited.
Steve Good, cabinet member for environment, said: “Given the importance of issues concerning pollution of the River Windrush and the resulting impact further downstream on the Thames, I am very pleased that the event is taking place and hope it will be a productive event.”
The day takes place at the council offices at Woodgreen, Witney, from 10am, and anyone wishing to attend should email enquiries@westoxon.gov.uk .
On Tuesday, county councillors passed a motion against sewage pollution in the county's rivers.
