Ralph Leavis asks if the 1875 Health and Safety Act that orders that household rubbish must be collected once a week has been repealed (Oxford Mail, November 13).
Mr Leavis may be surprised to learn that household rubbish is still being collected in Oxford every week.
The only difference is that one week it is landfill and the other week recyclable.
