Antiques Road Trip and Bargain Hunt star Charles Hanson is set to host an "Oxfordshire treasure hunt" where he will lead an antiques valuation.

The famous auctioneer hopes to help raise funds and he will be at Charlbury Primary School on Saturday November 25, 2-4pm.

No appointment is necessary and attendees will be invited to donate £5 to the school in exchange for the valuation.

Mr Hanson said: "Dig out those antique treasures, heirlooms and collectables and together we can enjoy a little bit of antiques magic.

"Perhaps it’s your turn to have an Antiques Roadshow-style moment.

“Nearly everyone has something tucked away at home, maybe an inherited object that they’d like to know more about.

"Pop down to see me and we can chat about history, heritage and your item’s potential value."

Items can be entered into a "wide range of sales" with Hansons Auctioneers, a firm launched by Mr Hanson in 2005 which has six salerooms across the country including Hanson Holloway's in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

He added: "It’s often at events like these that I uncover wonderful treasures that go on to excel at auction.

"I’m happy to assess anything and everything including ceramics, jewellery, silver, coins, toys, antiquarian books, works of art, clocks and more.

"Surprise me!

“I love meeting people and I’m looking forward to an afternoon filled with fun."
