A consultation is open on whether to convert pavements into shared use cycle paths for pedestrians and cyclists.

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking views on the proposals which it says will help improve cycle safety in Carterton.

The proposed locations are sections of Upavon Way (north side) near its junction with Burford Road; Carterton Road (north side) near its roundabout junction with Norton Way; Marsh Way/Norton Way (south side) – near its junction with Norton Way; and Brize Norton Road (north side) near its junction with Church View.

The planned works will also include additional footway improvements as part of the proposals.

Any responses should be completed and returned by 5pm on Friday March 15.

The County Council will review the responses and if objections are received prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2024.

This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council website about a week before.
