Two people remain hospitalised with serious injuries five days after a crash on the A40 near Burford. 

The crash happened between a black MG ZS and a white Citroen Berlingo van on the A40 between Swinbrook and Burford at around 6.20am on Monday (March 4). 

The driver of the MG, a man aged in his 30s and the driver of the Citroen, a man aged in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and are being treated in the John Radcliffe in Oxford. 

Officers investigating the serious two-vehicle crash have launched a renewed appeal for witnesses to come forward. 

Investigating officer PC Matt Stansfield of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision occurred early this morning on a busy stretch of the A40.

“Sadly, both injured people remain in hospital in serious conditions, and I am re-appealing to anybody who witnessed this collision to come forward.

“I know that numerous people stopped at the scene to offer help and first aid, and we are very keen to speak to any of those who have not yet contacted police.
