Firefighters were called to a back garden BBQ in an Oxfordshire town after a hedge caught fire.
The incident occurred after a fire broke out at a property on Early Road in Witney at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon (April 6).
Flames spread to the hedge after the occupants were hosting a back garden BBQ but it had been lit too close to the shrubbery.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “This afternoon at just after 4pm a crew from Witney Fire Station was called to a report of a fire in the open on Early Road, Witney.
“The call turned out to be a hedge on fire that had caught light due to a BBQ being too close to it.
“With summer on its way and hopefully the weather improving, we would like to remind everyone of some safety tips when having BBQ’s.”
