As an introduction to the upcoming Dinner Tasting at The Corner Club on March 5, we are offering a mixed tasting case from Quinta de la Rosa, not all of which will be shown at the tasting. Quinta de la Rosa was one of the pioneers of table wine (as opposed to Port) production in the Douro Valley whose slate soils produce highly characterful wines with excellent structure and fruit.

The Quinta de la Rosa mixed case costs £110 and includes three bottles each of the following four wines.

Val da Clara White 2006: Made from a blend of local grape varieties, this is a minerally and fruity white with excellent structure and a delightfully scented nose.

Val da Clara Rosé 2006: Made from the Tinta Roriz (aka the tempranillo grape variety of Spain) with touriga nacional, tinta barroca and touriga franca, this is a superbly fresh and fruit-filled rosé of real class.

duROSA Red 2005: From selected grapes matured in French barrels, this superb rich red has loads of soft fruit and impressive minerality from the slate based soils of the Douro Valley.

Aguia 2005: Wonderfully concentrated with deep, dark rich blackberry fruit, this delicious wine has good structure and complexity with a superbly long aromatic finish.
