Young dancers jived, pirouetted and tapped their way across an Oxford stage as part of an annual talent showcase.
Pupils from the Vera Legge Dance School at Cowley Community Centre staged their yearly dance variety show at The Cherwell School in Marston Ferry Road on Saturday. More than 400 people clapped and cheered as 74 dancers performed tap, ballet and modern numbers to popular hits such as Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
Diana Brown, daughter of Vera Legge, said: “The little ones were nervous but when they got off stage they were so excited, they wanted to know when they could do it all again. It does give them confidence when they go out on stage, it’s good for them. One of the highlights was the tap which the children did to no music, which is quite hard.”
