POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a driver was injured by broken glass during an attempted robbery in Headington last night.

Two men, aged 42 and 33, and a 29-year-old woman were sitting in a silver Mercedes in Northfield Road, near to the junction of London Road, at about 8pm,when a white car pulled up behind them and a group of teenagers got out and surrounded their vehicle.

One of the teenagers, a black male, banged on the driver’s window and shouted “money, money, money”.

The driver locked the doors and drove off, but as he pulled away the group threw pieces of brick at the car, smashing the driver’s window.

Dc Argent said: “I appeal to anyone who was in this area of Headington and saw a group of teenagers in a white car to contact police immediately.”
