ROBBERS threatened a man with a pair of scissors in a late night attack.

The two men approached a 27-year-old man near the cattle grid on the cycle path running between South Parks Road and Ferry Road in Marston at 10pm on Wednesday.

They demanded cash while brandishing a pair of scissors. The victim handed over his wallet, containing £6 in cash, but no bank or credit cards.

Police are linking the attack with an attempted robbery in Marston Road at 10.30pm on Tuesday when two men tried to steal cash and a laptop while threatening a man with a knife but left empty-handed.

Dc Josephine Craig, of the Oxford robbery team, said: “As the man went to take his wallet out from his bag, he noticed that one of the men was holding a pair of scissors.

“They then threatened him with the scissors and told him to hurry up and hand over his wallet and cycle away before anyone saw what was going on.

“We believe that this incident may be linked to an attempted robbery that occurred the night before in Marston Road and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information or saw anyone acting suspiciously.”

The first robber was aged 18-22, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build, with short black hair parted in the middle. He was wearing a light coloured top.

The other man is aged between 19 and 23, from 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, and of average build, with short black hair. He was wearing dark-coloured casual clothing.
