The funeral of Flight Lieutenant Mike Blee, who was killed in a plane crash at Drayton on June 14, will take place next week.

The 62-year-old RAF instructor, of St Mary’s Green, Abingdon, and 15-year-old Nicholas Langley-Rice, a schoolboy from Calcot, Reading, died when their Grob Tutor aircraft collided with a glider mid air and crashed into a field.

The pair had taken off from RAF Benson on an air experience flight.

The glider pilot, from Hampshire, parachuted to safety.

Friends are welcome to the service at RAF Benson at noon on Monday.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers payable to SFAS DMRC Headley Court Patient Welfare Fund, or the RAF Benevolent Fund.
