CLASSIC jazz rang out at Oxford Castle today to greet shoppers to its market.
Musicians perform alongside stalls selling hand-made crafts and antiques, three days a week.
Castle spokesman Sara Le-Poore said: “We have held the markets every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday between 11am and 5pm since April. We hope to carry on throughout the summer and hopefully all year.
“We want to offer people something different. Shoppers enjoy coming for a drink and something to eat while listening to local musicians.
“We have a variety of performers doing different styles, including rock & roll and rockabilly, and even have a classical flautist who plays her own compositions. The musicians themselves don’t always want to go to London to play. They enjoy playing here in their local community.”
