Sir – Our daughter attends Larkrise Primary School in East Oxford, and we are delighted to have the choice of a non-faith school in our area. We are also pleased that, of the choice of three local secondary schools, one is a non-faith secondary school — Oxford School on Glanville Road.
Friends and their children who attend Oxford School are very happy with the school which, despite its past issues, is a vibrant, dynamic and improving school.
My choice of Oxford School as a non-faith secondary school will be eroded if Oxfordshire County Council go ahead with their ludicrous plan to turn Oxford School into a Christian faith-funded academy.
Academy schools may work for some areas, but not for Oxford School. Three Christian schools in a multicultural area such as East Oxford? Where is our choice?
