A 37-year-old woman was arrested in Oxford today on suspicion of attempted robbery.
The woman was arrested in Headington after allegedly trying to snatch the handbag of a 19-year-old woman in London Road after approaching her and asking for a light for a cigarette.
The incident happened at about 12.45am. The woman was arrested after police were flagged down by passers-by who stopped to help the victim.
