The posts & crossbars at both ends were struck at least six times in this well contested match. Benson defied their league position by going in to a deserved 2 goal lead after 25 minutes.
Kidlington pulled a goal back just before half time & came out as a different proposition in the second half going into a 4 -2 lead despite sterling goalkeeping by Luke Trythall & the central defenders Sean Cousins & Harry Drysdale mopping most balls up. Kidlington’s 4th goal was a great free kick by Jordan Rouse.
Benson’s reaction was excellent, they pushed forward & were rewarded when James Regent scored his second after a goal mouth scramble. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough time for Benson to secure the equaliser.
Both teams contributed to a well fought but fair match.
