Police are appealing for witnesses following a distraction burglary in Wilcher Close, East Hagbourne.
At 12.30pm yesterday, a man called at the property and told the occupant that he had read his meter and he owed £60.
The victim, a 70 year-old man, only had two £50 notes which he gave to the offender and asked for change. The offender produced two £20 notes and asked for the victim to write him a receipt. While the victim was doing this, the offender fled the property with the £100.
The man is white, in his fifties, 5ft 6in tall, medium build and has short hair. He was wearing a light brown bobble hat, without the bobble, black jacket and light blue trousers.
