Police tonight appealed for information after two burglaries in South Oxfordshire.
Overnight, a property in Cuddesdon Road, Horspath was burgled. The thieves got into the house through an insecure front door and stole a mobile phone and car keys.
The car, a Vauxhall Corsa, which was parked on the driveway, was also stolen and later found abandoned in Shotover.
Between 1.50pm and 3.50pm, a house in Crowell Hill, Chinnor, was broken into. The thieves smashed a rear patio door and stole some jewellery.
PC Emma McGrath said: “I don’t believe that these burglaries are linked but we are investigating every possibility and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“I would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that most thieves are opportunist, so always ensure that windows and doors are secure when you aren’t in the room.
“I am also appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to contact the police.”
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact PC McGrath at Didcot police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
