YOUNG artist Petra Bachrati will have her work seen by hundreds of people this festive season.
The 10-year-old won a camera when her design was picked as the best in a competition run at St Andrew’s Primary School, in Headington, Oxford. It will now be used as the design for the nearby St Andrew’s Residential Care Home’s 2009 Christmas card.
Petra received her prize from care home resident Robert Elmore at a school assembly on Monday.
Headteacher Sue Baker said: “We asked all our pupils to design a card, which they did during half term.
“Entries were judged by the care home. The quality was really high.
“We go to the care home each year to sing carols, and so this further strengthened our links with them.
“We see ourselves as a community school and events like this help cement our position.”
