A CYCLING family have appealed for help after their bicycles were stolen.

Liam Bubb, 27, his wife, Zoe, and their children, Elladie, five, and Keelan, two, were left distraught after two adult bikes — one worth £800 — and a child’s seat were stolen from under the stairs in the communal area near their flat in Purslane Drive, Bicester.

The couple, whose only means of transport was their bicycles, believe the bikes were stolen between 10pm on Thursday, November 19, and 2pm on Friday, November 20.

Mrs Bubb said the culprit would have had to have been let in to the building, unless the main front door had been left open.

Housewife Mrs Bubb, 27, said: “Neither of us drive, so we use our bikes all the time for getting around.

“Liam’s the main bread-winner. I’m at home with the children. The bicycles were the most expensive thing we owned.

“He had to work really hard to be able to have such an expensive bikes. It really made me angry. We are a one-income family. We have two small children. We live in a two-bedroom council flat and we can’t afford to replace the bicycles.

“The first thing my daughter said was: ‘We can’t go on bike rides any more’. It broke my heart.”

The £800 cycle, which was insured, is a silver GT Avalanche 2.0 limited edition cycle.

The other bike was an green Apollo mountain bike.

A pink cycle helmet was also taken, but later found on a pathway on the Bure Park estate.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
