Nobody could condemn Sally Kent from feeling bitter towards the woman who caused the car crash that killed her daughter.
Young Charlotte Hill died after a collision on the A34 slip road in Kidlington last year.
Magdalena Ochnio was cleared of causing death by dangerous driving, but admitted a charge of death by careless driving at Oxford Crown Court.
Now a judge has warned her she may be jailed.
But, in an emotional tribute to her daughter, Ms Kent admitted she feels sorry for Ochnio and thinks she should not be sent to prison.
Considering the nightmare she has gone through, it is an admirable response.
Ochnio, who drove into the back of Ms Kent’s car in which Charlotte was a passenger, has apologised and it is clear her life has changed forever.
Ms Kent has acknowledged it was a tragic accident.
As she says in today’s interview, her daughter would not have wanted her to be bitter.
It is a touching and powerful response.
