Police today warned van owners to be on their guard after a spate of vehicle crimes in the last week.

Officers said van owners, especially on farms and industrial estates, should ensure they empty their vans of tools and goods overnight.

Between 12pm and 4pm on December 10, thieves broke into two Mercedes vans at a farm in Pishill and stole various items including a satnav.

Between 10pm on December 14 and 6am on December 15, tools were stolen from a Volkswagen pick-up and from a red Volkswagen Monterey in Goring Heath.

On the same night, at the Manor Farm Industrial Estate in Peppard, two Mercedes Sprinters vans were damaged in a bid to try tosteal them.

Henley Crime Reduction Advisor, Julia Wheeler, said: “We are advising van owners to be extra vigilant and ensure their vehicle is secure at all times and emptied at night.”
