VILLAGERS battled it out to have their Christmas tree named best in show.
Eleven Harwell organisations decorated real Christmas trees at a competition in the village hall on Saturday, in the third annual fundraiser for Little Pippins Pre-School.
The event has quickly become a village tradition, with local groups getting ever-more ambitious in their decorations.
This year’s winner was the Gardener’s Club, which decorated its tree with fresh fruit and vegetables grown locally.
The event raised £2,200 for Little Pippins, which is raising money to build a new building to cater for two- to five-year-olds in the village.
