Sir – As an 80-year-old, who has lived for the past 35 years in West Oxfordshire, had a home in South Oxfordshire (mostly then in Berkshire and Oxford city during the Second World War, I read The Oxford Times with interest — particularly the letters.
I must point out, as I hope others have done, that Duncan J. Wood, of Witney, (Letters, February 4) is wrong about free parking — we have it in Chipping Norton too. But I agree with him that Witney would surely benefit from introducing car park charges. The letter in the same edition about buses and coaches for London and the airports I agree seems too obvious to be true — what could be wrong with John Simms’s suggestion?
