Stern resistance from Oxfordshire youngsters Phil Evans and James Tomlinson could not stop Cardiff University CCE losing by a massive 500 runs against Warwickshire at Edgbaston yesterday.
Evans, son of Oxfordshire's cricket Development Officer Rupert Evans, made 38 not out and former Oratory School pupil Tomlinson hit 36 as they produced a half-century ninth-wicket stand in Cardiff's second innings of 164.
