The Liberal Democrats have launched their Oxford City Council election campaign, urging voters not to allow Labour back into power.
The Labour group was in control of the city council for 20 years until the Liberal Democrat-Green alliance took over in May 2000. Electors will take to the polls again on Thursday, May 2.
Cllr Corinna Redman, leader of the city council, said: "The Lib Dems have turned the city council around in the last two years, after two decades of Labour neglect and incompetence.
"We inherited an organisation which was failing to serve the public, and with finances out of control.
"We are asking the public for a mandate to let us finish the job we've started." Key proposals in the manifesto include:
Protecting Oxford's unique green spaces
Investing in the city's leisure centres to encourage more people to use them
Continuing to reduce rough sleeping and aggressive begging
Further increasing affordable housing in the city's new developments.
