A special court is to be found so that a profoundly deaf Banbury man can stand trial on allegations of dishonestly handling stolen motorcycle parts.

Ian Holland, 27, of Melbourn Close, Banbury, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Rupert Lowe, defending, told Gloucester Crown Court: "There are no facilities for the deaf in this court and Ian Holland, who is very deaf, must be able to understand what is happening.

"This case should be transferred to another court where there is a loop hearing aid system." When Holland appeared at court on Friday, he denied a further charge of handling parts from a stolen motorcycle, including the engine and handlebars.

Appearing with him was David Cross, 35, of Croughton, near Brockley, Northants, who has pleaded not guilty to a break-in at an industrial estate near Chipping Camden between March 30 and April 2 this year. He also denied handling goods stolen from the same business and a further charge of handling a stolen motorcycle.

The men were remanded on bail to allow time for a suitable court to be found.
